Disney Dreaming does a review for Disney Mania 7. You can read the whole review here Out in stores March 9th.

3. “Real Gone” from Hollywood Records band, Honor Society

A great guitar start to this song makes you excited to keep listening before Honor Society even begins singing! The song originally appeared in the Disney/Pixar movie “Cars” and was surprisingly written by Sheryl Crow and John Shanks.

We think this was a great choice for Honor Society and we’re glad it is included on the Disney Mania 7 album.

Review: 1/19 – Boston, MA

I came across a review from the Boston, MA show. They mention Honor Society.

Honor Society’s opening set was the most musically sound portion of the show. With a charismatic, catchy brand of rock laced with r&b and new wave, it could pass for a less screamworthy version of the Jonas Brothers.

Music Review: Alvin and the Chipmunks:The Squeakquel Soundtrack
Posted 12/28/2009 in Review by Janette • Comments Off

Blog Critics posted a review of Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel Soundtrack.

Do you remember Alvin and the Chipmunks? Since the original television show was first created in 1958 by Ross Bagdasarian Sr., it has spawned newer versions down the road due to the enormous popularity. Of course, it wouldn’t be long before the Chipmunks came to the big screen. What else would you call the next movie in the sequence but Alvin and the Chipmunks:The Squeakquel?

The movie soundtrack, as to be expected, is chock full of the tiny critters doing what they do best. Singing, with every note pitched to ultrahigh levels. This time around adds the voices of the Chipettes, an all girl chipmunk singing trio. Somehow I doubt the actors who supply the characters with their voices are singing as the actual furballs. More than likely, each actor gets to have his or her voice speeded up by a computer.

“You Really Got Me” is the first out of the gate when it comes to the song lineup. It uses the voices of the Chipmunks to sing along featuring the band Honor Society. From the opening notes, the song has a head banging beat to which one can easily tap their toes.

Honor Society: Fashionably Late

3 Stars

Honor Society comes into the world with a bang.

While Honor Society is a relatively new band, just now registering on our music radar, everyone is raving about Fashionably Late. With the group’s strong lyrics, powerful pop music – and backed by Jonas Records – Honor Society is worth your attention.

Tommy 2 reviews Honor Society St. Petersburg, FL Show
Posted 11/08/2009 in Review by Janette • Comments Off

From Tommy2.net : A rockin’ good time. Last night Honor Society brought their Fashionably Late Tour to the State Theater in St. Petersburg, FL and they really brought it. The tour is now in the final stretch and Alex, Andrew, Jason and Michael looked to be in full stride with a show that brought more emotion out of their music and stage show. Major kudos to Jason Rosen who appears to have come out of his shell proving to be quite the entertainer and even handled lead vocals on a impressive cover of Use Somebody by Kings Of Leon. As always, Michael was rock solid on vocals and lead guitar, while Alex and Andrew made sure to keep the audience excited at all times. Although, Andrew has yet to break out the new Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones 5 bass (tonight, he plans on using it live for the first time in Fort Lauderdale). The crowd of about 200 was definitely a key component of the show and proved it during the sing-along of Where Are You Now. If you get a chance, you’ll definitely want to see this show before the tour is over.

Honor Society – Runtime 55 Minutes

?Pros: The band keeps getting better with each show.?
Cons: Bad sound and lighting, the same song order since the first night of the tour. Meet and Greets require you to purchase a shirt or be in the fan club.
Best song: Where Are You Now

1. Full Moon Crazy?
2. Sing For You?
3. Two Rebels?
4. Where Are You Now?
5. My Own Way
?6. Use Somebody (Kings Of Leon)*?
7. Here Comes Trouble?
8. Don’t Close The Book?
9. Why Didn’t I?
10. Nobody Has To Know?
11. Over You
?12. See U In The Dark

Honor Society – Songs From “Fashionably Late Review
Posted 11/05/2009 in Review by Janette • Comments Off

From The Music Inferno: Other than being a boy band, Honor Society have made their big step with their debut album a few months ago. What sucks is that they are constantly compared to the Jonas Brothers. I don’t want to offend anyone, but they sound a lot more mature than the JB, and they’re more R&B, like the New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys. Personally, I could live just fine without them in the music industry, but don’t listen to me! These guys have talent and most importantly a beautiful voice.

Honor Society is Fashionably Late

From The Celebrity Cover- Up-beat, danceable melodies; catchy lyrics that are relatable to today’s youth—these elements and more are what sets Honor Societies second CD, “Fashionably Late,” apart from other’s in the same genre.

The CD includes a balance of danceable songs like “Full Moon Crazy” and “Here Comes Trouble” and slower, easy-listening songs like “Goodnight My Love” and “My Own Way.” Fans of pop, electronica, and even soft rock will enjoy this well-made CD that will have everyone blasting their car radios and singing along to the CD’s catchiest track, “Over You.” The songs are reminiscent of ’80s pop music, which also made catchy lyrics and bubblegum melodies popular among the youth.

Though I am not normally a fan of pop, I do believe this CD is one that can be added to anyone’s music library and brought out as a guilty pleasure, for a party, and even for the gym. “Fashionably Late” is definitely a winner.

Esmee Denters and Honor Society in Portland Review
Posted 10/21/2009 in Article, Photos, Review by Janette • Comments Off

From On Portland: What thin line divides a band like Honor Society from the The Jonas Brothers? Why is Miley Cyrus selling out stadiums while Esmee Denters plays to a crowd of just a few hundred? Musically you could stand Esmee Denters single “Outta Here” and Honor Society “Over You” against the songs from either the Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus’s, but in the business of big pop bands, music is only part of the equation.

Both Esmee Denters and Honor Society got their breaks through various social networks. Esmee was discovered doing covers of her favorite songs on YouTube while Honor Society found their following via MySpace. As they played to a small but devoted following, many of the teens in the crowd sang along to almost every word of every song. As Esmee finished her set, she stopped and took a picture of the crowd to post on her twitter account (@emseeeworld). Honor Society spent more time after their show meeting their fans than they did playing to them. This kind of personal connection between artist and fan is something that’s being taken to an entirely new level. But it is enough?

When Boy Bands Turn Into Honorable Societies
Posted 10/17/2009 in Article, Review by Janette • 4 Comments »

Thanks Mr. Rosen for tweeting about this great review.

Boy groups have evolved from being trios or quintets who only know how to sing and dance to full packaged artists that play instruments, write their songs and flawlessly pave their way into the hearts of many with their charm. Take the case of Honor Society. Honor Society is the new protégé of the Jonas Brothers group headed by none other than the father of the most popular boy siblings in the industry, Kevin Jonas Sr. But the people behind them are just the tip of the iceberg. What brought this group forward is their hip yet tastefully reminiscent take on music, their obvious good looks and suave boyish qualities become secondary.

The group became popular worldwide with the release of their debut single, Where Are You Now – a refreshing musical narrative of the nostalgia brought by high school life which became the perfect accompaniment to the movie Bandslam that starred High School Musical starlet Vanessa Hudgens. Here in the Philippines, the song has reached number one in top radio stations and with the release of their new single Over You, the group is far from stopping in their drive on the road to success.

They entered the music scene quite impressively being hailed as the breakout band to watch, penned at Rolling Stone and were also named the buzzworthy artists in MTV. They also went on tour immediately with the Jonas Brothers and Jordin Sparks. Thanks to the numerous fans they have acquired from their Myspace and Youtube pages which have garnered more than 4 million plays in a little over a few weeks.
